Eli turns 4 today! I can't believe how fast he has grown into a little maniac..., I mean man. He melts my heart when out of the blue he will come up to me just to tell me that he loves me. Right now he really likes robots,cars, and transformers. For awhile now he has been able to say the sounds that the letters make and he can recognize the whole alphabet. He can also write his own name. We are so glad that he is a part of our family, we wouldn't know what we would do without him!

First Day of School

Yesterday was Kenzi's first day of 1st grade! She was very excited about going to school all day. Her favorite part of the day was having hot lunch. She is really excited about her new teacher and earning coyote bucks that she can spend on Fun Fridays in the classroom. Today she said that going to school all day makes the days go by really fast.


Eli's preschool started today. He isn't intimidated by new things at all. He went to a different preschool this year and when I dropped him off he just "jumped in with both feet" so to speak. His favorite part of school today was painting an ice cream cone and playing outside with the water table. He had so much fun that I had a hard time getting him to leave!

Great Grandparents

My kids had a great opportunity to spend time with 3 sets of great grandparents this past week. We saw Dewayne's parents at his funeral. Then we had a birthday party for Eli with the kids great grandparents from my side. I think that it is great that my kids have the opportunity to learn from their great grandparents!

We found out about six weeks ago that Spencer's dad had been diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. Yesterday his dad passed away. We are glad that we recently got to spend some good quality time with him at the Hammon cabin. We will miss him.

Summer Sports Saturday

Today was full of sports! It started out with T-ball pictures for Eli at 7:30am. After that he had his first T-ball game! He did a great job. He is so excited to finally be able to participate on the community sports teams. Then Kenzi had her basketball pictures at 2pm. Her very first basketball game was at 3:30 and was followed by another at 4:30. She did a very good job, especially considering the fact that she hadn't been to any team practices because we were out of town. She just jumped right in and played her best! She kinda watched the other players and did what they did. I took her by myself because Spencer had to put in extra time at work. I'm sure that it was funny watching me try to explain some things to her considering I have no clue about the game of basketball! I mostly just tried to be encouraging and complimentitive!

Our Summer Vacation

We had a great time visiting our families in Utah for our summer vacation this year. We stayed at my parents house. They live on a lake so the kids are always out there fishing! It is pretty rewarding since the blue gill fish bite about every 20 seconds! Kenzi can even take the fish off of the hook all by herself. For Father's day my dad got a fire pit so we got to roast marshmallows and have smores. Can a pregnant woman be more content??

Over Father's Day weekend we went up to the Hammon family cabin. We had a great time spending time with Spencer's family. The kids absolutely loved playing with their cousins! It was nice to get together, hang out and enjoy one another's company.

Then we went to Lagoon, an amusement park in Utah. We hadn't been since Kenzi was about 2years old. The kids had a blast riding on all of the kiddie rides. I think that Eli's favorite ride was the bumper cars because he got to drive his own car. Kenzi's favorite ride was the rock-o-plane Ferris wheel.My Mom, Dad and brother came with us. It was a lot of fun!

Last, but not least, we went to my little sister's wedding! She made a gorgeous bride. It was neat to be able to go with her to the temple and have the whole family there. It was a beautiful wedding!
